Cloud Accounting now available for Australian SME mass market

MYOB accounting solution operates seamlessly on cloud, desktop or both

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 07, 2012 -
MYOB’s highly anticipated cloud-enabled accounting solution, AccountRight Live is now available for the 800,000 AccountRight desktop software clients* and other small to medium business owners around the country.

AccountRight Live (http://myob.com.au/arlive) is fully-featured online accounting that lets SMEs seamlessly manage their business anywhere, anytime on the desktop and in the cloud as they choose. This seamless switching heralds an Australian-first.

Businesses can move to the cloud at their own pace, as AccountRight Live provides the ability to work on and save data both online and offline.

At a recent event (http://myob.com.au/arlivelaunch) celebrating the imminent launch, the Minister for Small Business, the Hon Brendan O’Connor said, “I think this launch, this very important product, AccountRight Live, is exactly the sort of thing that small businesses have been crying out for.”

More than 1,000 MYOB clients and professional partners are already running their business on the new solution thanks to a rigorous five-month pilot program completed prior to launch. Key benefits for businesses include the significant increase in efficiency through secure automatic importing and matching of bank transactions, and the insight and accuracy gains made by the real time online collaboration of business owners, their staff and advisors.

Sean Devenish, Principal of financial services firm Collins SBA (http://collinssba.com.au) participated in the AccountRight Live pilot program. Devenish says, “AccountRight Live is a revolutionary step forward in the way we deal with clients. By working with clients on their live file, we can invest our compliance efforts into improving their data file, which improves the quality of record keeping at the client end and enhances our productivity year on year.

“With accurate reporting at our fingertips, we can break through the business restraints imposed by inefficient data collection and work closely with clients in real-time to enhance their business decision making. This is a significant win for the business community who will now be able to experience their accountant truly working with them to help manage and run their business.”

MYOB CEO Tim Reed says, “This new era in cloud accounting provides a strong opportunity for small and medium business owners to increase their productivity, giving them more time to do what they love. Our journey to making business life easier for AccountRight Live clients has only just begun, with more innovations to come.

“These include a mobile app and an application programming interface that enables our developer partners to create and integrate business applications with the product. Both will empower clients even further.

“To coincide with the market launch of our latest solution, we’re revealing phase two of our website revamp today. In September we refreshed its look, feel and information architecture, resulting in a substantial increase in unique visitors and overall activity. Phase two delves deeper to further address our clients’ needs.

“Combined with our unrivalled 24/7 live support via phone, email and online, AccountRight Live will continue to transform the way Australian SMEs do business.”

AccountRight Live, which is Windows 8 compatible, is available on the MYOB website and via MYOB partners today for the existing AccountRight Plus, AccountRight Standard and AccountRight Basics software. AccountRight Premier will go ‘Live’ next year. Clients who purchased an AccountRight desktop license from 1 October 2012 will have six months free access to AccountRight Live. For new clients, subscriptions start at $23 per month and purchase of the desktop software is not necessary but is available if desired. MYOB Cover members receive subscription access at no extra cost for a single entity. For pricing details, click here.
